Metrotect Ltd Liquid Coatings Division (acquisition)
Spencer Coatings acquired the Liquid Coatings business of Metrotect Limited, the leading supplier of pipeline protection products in February 2002.
The business included the Acothane, U-Coat and Metrocoat ranges of polyurethane and epoxy coatings.
The Acothane range has an international reputation and is approved by leading oil and gas companies throughout the world. The products are primarily used to provide long life protection to buried pipelines which carry gas, oil and water. Although they are mainly used on pipelines, they can be used in other areas of extreme corrosion such as jetty pilings, splash zones and oil and gas storage facilities.
